Overview
Welcome to the NBA Expansion Draft! There is a new team joining the NBA called the Hawaii Sharks. When a new team joins the NBA, there is a draft that is held to allow the new team to be competitive. The new team has asked for help creating a list of available NBA players for the draft and finding the diamonds in the rough. Instructions
Organize the data to visualize which players the Hawaii Sharks should consider.

  • Import the data into Tableau and start a workbook.

I felt like it was a good challenge but broad in what they were expecting.

It was a fairly easy assignment that would be perfect for beginners. One aspect that could be improved is to describe how they want the data presented. I feel like giving a dash board that the manager could manipulate to find the highs and lows of the data would be helpful, so that is how I displayed the data.

Good challenge for those new to Tableau but I wish the prompt could specify what kind of visualizations they want to see. The expectations are fairly broad.

It was a good challenge and a really good test for people who are beginners. The biggest thing I would say is explaining how they want the data presented in the prompt, other than that it’s great!

I liked this challenge! Very simple to implement and visualize. I was slightly confused over whether or not I should include specific numbers when creating the minimum on filters. For example, for “Average above 18 points per game”, were they want 19 points or higher? Or 18.1 and higher? That was the only point of confusion.
