To normalize the data, I practiced using the xlookup function to start with my customer table. I then used data parsing to split up the customer address parts. I used the delete duplicate data tool to create the rest of the tables.

Here is my solution for the data normalization (class homework for 10.25.23). Thanks for the opportunity to practice my normalization, Boston!

Here is my response, thanks for the help on normalization. It was nice to review it after learning everything.

I like how you separated the first and last names and different elements of the address into separate cells!

Thanks for the challenge! Text-to-column and the remove duplicates features were really helpful for creating the tables.

I created separate worksheets for each table that I needed to create. I ended up with four tables to turn this data into third normal form.

A good review on data normalization. I ended up creating 4 additional tables to normalize. I left in the dollar symbols in the price column in the product table. I was not aware until after I completed the challenge and compared to the solution that it is good practice to simplify data characters in this way. Learned something new!

I enjoyed the normalization practice and I also used the TEXTBEFORE and TEXTAFTER functions to separate the data in the columns which was a good challenge for me to think through.
