25|EXCEL – Tax Prep Startup

I used the Index/Match and SUMIF functions for this challenge.

A formating thing but if anyone has insight on how to make the map view include only the regions that have values that would be great.

Good reminder of basics.

I had no idea that Excel was even capable of this. This will definitely be a useful tool for me in the future. Here’s my solution:

Great challenge! I was surprised with the map feature and the functionality of it. I will definitely be referring to that feature more often in the future!

The map feature is really neat! I went ahead and made a map to show the number of employees needed by state in the US and the other showing by country, excluding the US.

This was so much fun! I had no clue that you could make Map Charts in Excel! It was so cool to play around with all of the ideas for formatting and options in that data view as well.

This was great practice. It was a good reminder to me that even when things are simple to pay attention to detail. In my SUMIF function to calculate the total needed employees in each country I accidentally included in the range the title row. Didn’t seem like a big issue but it somehow made my total off by 15 employees. Took me a few minutes to figure out where I was wrong and is just another reminder to me you can’t be too careful even with the simplest formulas.

I can see how this skill would be useful! I am a visual learner so learning this skill is easier for me to understand data.

The site wouldn’t let me upload my excel file, but here is a snapshot of my solution! Very cool to learn about the map graph!

What a fun challenge! Although I have used EXCEL a decent bit, I had never used the MAP function! Thanks for the learning experience!

Here’s my solution!

It was surprisingly difficult but a great refresher.
